The Spongebob Squarepants movie is all about our lovable sponge charatacter, Spongebob. He is on a mission to save the frozen Mr. Krabs from King Neptunes wrath. But as he is gone, Plankton puts forth his most evil plan yet; total control of the citizens of Bikin Bottom to become ultimate leader. Everyone who has seen this movie will know that it is a great movie with a awesome plot and magical characters that capture your attention from the start, but how do we know about the movie to go and view it? Advertising is the answer.
The selected Spongebob Squarepants advertisements are all created to be noticed and to coincide with each other. They all have the text in common, the BIG in all the headings gives the audience a sure understanding that this is yet another ad for the one product they keep seeing. In this case a movie. Also the font and size of the letters is not an accident, it is bold, in a white colour to keep the primary focus other than the picture and also the fact that it is using the actual size font to describe the words themselves. The Illustration takes up the entire space, and is in eye catching colours that you cant help but look at. This picture is the focal point. For example on Big Evil, Plankton is obviously the salient object as he is bigger than everything else on the page and has the most contrasting colour. Another technique that they have used is the colour, the different subjects of the slogan actually matches the colours and illustration. For example Big Romance has pinks and lighter colours to emphasise the theme of the ad.
The age group for this movie is not only young adolescents of about 12-13 but also the whole family that all ages can enjoy. The advertisements show this obviously when looking at the very illustration. They all have very up beat pictures with humour included. For example the Big Twist advertisement has Spongebob in bright contrasting colours twisting his whole body around to make the figure of speech seem literal. This isn’t the only joke that is to be found with in these ads, they are all made to make fun of a particularly ‘hollywoodised’ action movie. Big Action supports this view entirely as it has the two hero’s of the movie running heroically in an intense emotion in their face, they also have the major explosion behind them. This fun and childish humour is needed on the billboards to give the audience a small taste of what the movie would hold and how they wish they knew more.

Harry Potter and the Philosophers stone, by J.K. Rowling is the first of seven books in the fantastic Harry Potter series. Harry is first told of his being a wizard and is told of his dark past as the defeater of Lord Voldemort, the dark lord who killed hundreds who opposed him. He is also told that the dark lord killed his parents. Harry potter finds that with this he has got a reputation amongst the wizarding world that causes him to question whether he can live up to it. When he attends Hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry he learns sorcery, potions and herbology he finds his love for Quidditch, the football of the magical world, and finds and ferocious three head dog in third floor forbidden corridor.
Harry potter is a well constructed book, directed at a younger age range of around 10-13, it is simple language than the others further along in her series.
The plot is amazing, talks to the younger range group to show that courage is found in anyone, even in the boy that lives in the cupboard underneath the stairs. It brings the reader into a whole other magical world and you just cant stop reading to see what Harry Does next.
Harry cannot do this without his closest friends, though! Ron is the red haired lovable character being the youngest boy of seven. Hermione, the skilled witch that was not expected from a muggle born. Although slightly annoying, Harry wouldn’t have lasted through the first book without them.
Unfortunately I cannot say a single thing bad about the book, I love many parts but cannot hate any…unless Professor Snape is included in the scene. I can Honestly say that through Harry’s travel in finding the Mirror of Ersyd, the three headed dog and even Hagrid’s hut they are all well constructed scenes and deserves the best review that it can get.
Rowling made one of the most fantastic stories seen in modern history, now made into motion pictures and known in every single house hold. Due to her wit and charm as a writer, she has created a globally known classic.
